Procurement Decision Support
With the growing number and complexity of technologies being introduced into clinical environments, there is an increasing need to ensure an optimal fit with users. The Healthcare Human Factors Group’s Procurement Decision Support service is designed to compliment the acquisition process at healthcare facilities, from gathering user requirements, developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to supporting decisions and implementation planning.
A key service offered is to conduct comparative usability evaluations. This service engages typical end users in realistic scenarios with each of the products under consideration. Using our understanding of user goals, environments and processes as a guide, each system is rated according to how well it meets prioritized requirements. Recommendations to mitigate issues uncovered during the evaluation are developed for vendors as well as the procurement project team.
