User Interface Design

The Healthcare Human Factors Group designs interfaces that allow end users to perform their everyday tasks in a way that is both easy and safe.  An iterative prototyping cycle presents stakeholders and users with the opportunity to interact with preliminary interfaces and explore their suitability as a design solution.

Both low- and high-fidelity, or paper- and software-based, prototypes are employed by the Healthcare Human Factors Team. Low fidelity prototypes are simple and quick to produce. High fidelity prototypes are fully-interactive and closely resemble the final design solution. High fidelity prototypes allow end-users to identify specific design issues for improvement to fit their needs.
